Don Julio 70 is produced at the La Primavera distillery, founded in 1942 by Don Julio Gonz?lez in the highlands of Jalisco, Mexico. Made from 100% Blue Weber agave, the tequila is double distilled in stainless steel pot stills with copper elements, then aged for 18 months in American white oak barrels ? a maturation period that firmly places it in the Anejo category. What follows is the innovation that launched an entire subcategory: the aged spirit undergoes a careful charcoal filtration process that strips away the amber color acquired during barrel aging while preserving the rich complexity developed over those 18 months.
